Minister: Russia expects progress in talks with EU, Ukraine

BRUSSELS, Oct 28 (PRIME) -- Russia expects progress in the negotiations on the transit and imports of gas to Ukraine at the forthcoming meeting between it, E.U. and Ukraine, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Monday.

“We expect progress in future understanding of the gas transit from January 2020 and gas supplies to Ukraine,” Novak said.

The current gas supply and transit contracts between Russia and Ukraine expire at the end of 2019. The last round of consultations on the prolongation of the deal took place September 19.
